Hotel

We have booked blocks at two hotels in Basking Ridge, New Jersey for our guests. We will be arranging transit via bus/shuttle between these hotels and Shannon's sister’s house nearby (in Far Hills, NJ). It is also a free country and you are welcome to stay elsewhere, like at a VRBO or an AirBNB, but you will have to arrange your own transit to and from the ceremony/reception.

Hotel blocks are both booked for Friday Oct 10 check-in through Sunday Oct 12 check-out. If you'd like to stay longer (i.e., check in before Friday and/or check out after Sunday), go with Option 2 (the Courtyard Marriot). The people who run Courtyard are significantly better at using the computer.

Option 1:

Hotel Name: Delta Hotels Basking Ridge (Marriott)

Rate: $179/night

Dates available: Friday, October 10 - Sunday, October 12

Address: 80 Allen Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

Link to book with the Beattie/Pendergrass Wedding Room Block.

Please book by September 10, 2025. After this date, rooms in our block will be released back to the hotel and we can no longer guarantee this rate.

If you would like to extend your stay beyond the Fri-Sun window but still want to get the block rate: contact Paula via email at adacosta@valorhospitality.com or phone at 908-573-2163 or 908-580-1300 press #3. Reference the Beattie-Pendergrass wedding on October 11 and provide your check in and check out dates.

Option 2:

Hotel Name: Courtyard Basking Ridge (Marriott)

Rate: $144/night

Dates available: Friday, October 10 - Sunday, October 12

Address: 595 Martinsville Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

Link to book with the Beattie/Pendergrass Wedding Room Block.

If you prefer, you can also call reservations at 1 (908) 542-0300 using code WBPS and ask for the “Beattie Pendergrass Wedding Room Block”

Please book by September 12, 2025. After this date, rooms in our block will be released back to the hotel and we can no longer guarantee this rate.

If you would like to extend your stay beyond the Fri-Sun window but still want to get the block rate: make your reservations through our block and then call the front desk directly at 1 (908) 542-0300 to add additional dates. Ensure you choose option 0 so you speak with a representative on the property.

Amtrak

If you're taking the Northeast Regional, the closest stop to Far Hills is Newark Liberty International Airport. If you're on the Acela or if your Northeast Regional train does not service the airport, the closest stop is Newark, NJ Penn Station (NWK).

NJ Transit

You've got two options.

  1. Your best bet is to take an express train to Morristown (on the Morristown line) and Uber/Lyft/taxi from there.
  2. If you want to get a bit closer, you could take a local train on the Gladstone branch. The closest station to the venue is Far Hills, and the closest station to the hotel blocks is Lyons. But this option will require you to take less frequent and slower trains, and you'll still need to take a car service to the hotel or the venue. It is technically possible to walk from the Far Hills station to the venue (Drew has done it), but only in the sense it is technically possible to walk anywhere not separated by a body of water. There are not sidewalks and there are lots of hills and it would be very silly to do this in wedding clothes.

Flights

The closest airport is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Ground transit

For our friends traveling by plane or train, there is no good way to get from Newark to Far Hills via public transit. We recommend taking a taxi or an Uber/Lyft to the hotel (or rent a car, if you'd like). It's about a 30 minute ride.

If you are eager to explore the Garden State's commuting system, you could take NJ transit to Secaucus, change to a Gladstone or Morristown train, get off at Far Hills/Lyons or Morristown, and then take a shorter Uber to your hotel or the venue. But this would be silly, and we say this as major transit heads. And don't even think about biking for your last mile (in this part of Jersey, human-powered transit is, to quote Werner Herzog, a matter of "every man for himself and God against all").
